Beginning with your first phone call, we will treat you with professional attentiveness and genuine warmth and kindness. We will answer your questions and assist you in finding the appointment time that is most convenient for you. Then we will provide you with an easy way to complete the paperwork that will facilitate your first visit and make sure you know how to find us.
When you arrive, you’ll notice that we have chosen a quiet, restorative location in a wooded area with marsh views to provide you with a pleasant, calming retreat. And we created our reception area to feel like a comfortable living room where you can relax and enjoy soft music, streaming video, and complimentary refreshments like coffee, tea, and fresh fruit.
First Visit Procedure
We’ll greet you by name and give you a tour of our office, and you’ll have a chance to see the quality of our cosmetic and restorative services on our Wall of Fame. We’ll then seat you with your hygienist, who will conduct an interview and review your paperwork to find out more about your history and concerns. She will also take digital x-rays and photos.
Dr. Dennis will come in to meet you and establish a relationship with you. She will listen to your concerns and complete a comprehensive examination. She will then analyze your case and prepare it in a format that is easy to follow.
Review the Findings
If Dr. Dennis detects any concerns with your oral health, you will have a follow-up visit in her consultation room. She will review and discuss her findings of your oral exam, show you intraoral photos of your teeth from your first visit, and propose a treatment plan for any dental concerns that require further treatment. If your gums and teeth are healthy and do not require further attention, you will see the intraoral photos during your next dental exam and cleaning appointment.
Smile Makeover
If you are coming in for a smile makeover, we’ll offer you a complimentary smile analysis. We’ll take photos of your smile, and you’ll have a chance to sit down with Dr. Dennis to discuss the changes you’d like to see. We encourage you to bring in any photos of smiles you like, to facilitate this process. We will then create a digital smile makeover by photoshopping in the changes you want to make. That way you can see what your new smile will look like before we begin any work. Dr. Dennis says, “It’s like icing on the cake!”
State-of-the Art Technology
Dr. Dennis and her staff pursue regular training to learn about the most effective recent methods and technology. We want to ensure you receive the most advanced care available. To that end, we utilize digital x-rays, which reduce radiation exposure by as much as 90 percent, and panoramic x-rays, which help in visualizing the entire mouth. In addition, we use intraoral cameras, which not only greatly magnify views of your teeth but give us viewing angles we couldn’t otherwise see.
Dental Lasers
We use a dental laser, like the Sol® Diode Laser shown at the right, for soft tissue therapy. It helps us avoid the need for antibiotics in the treatment of gum disease, and we’re seeing regeneration of bone support in otherwise compromised teeth. The laser is also useful for minor gum surgeries. There is rapid healing with no bleeding after surgery performed with the laser.
iTero® 3-D scanner
The iTero 3-D scanners creates three-dimensional images of your teeth in 60 seconds, eliminating messy impressions. We take comfortable, gag-free images of your teeth.
Same-Day Crowns
We are also equipped with CEREC® technology, like the crown-milling machine shown at the left, which quickly fabricates strong, beautiful, lifelike crowns. This means that we can prepare your tooth for a crown, manufacture it, and place it, all in the same appointment. There is no need to send your case to a dental laboratory for a week or two and no need for an uncomfortable temporary crown in the interim. This system also uses optical impressions, avoiding the traditional gooey impression material.
